Common Questions

I've never done yoga before. Is this retreat for me?
Absolutely! This retreat is specifically designed for complete beginners. Our teachers start from the very basics and build progressively. You'll learn proper foundations in a safe, supportive environment with lots of personal attention.
Is 7 hours of daily practice too much for a beginner?
The 7 hours are spread across the entire day with breaks in between, and it includes theory classes, not just physical practice. The asana practice is 2.5 hours with modifications for all levels. You'll have plenty of rest time, and you can always take breaks when needed.
Do I need to be flexible to join?
Not at all! Flexibility is something you develop through practice, not a prerequisite. Our teachers provide modifications for every pose, and we use props to help you practice safely. Many students come with very limited flexibility and see improvement in just a few days.
What should I bring with me?
We provide yoga mats and all equipment. Please bring: comfortable yoga/exercise clothes (modest, covering shoulders and knees), a water bottle, personal toiletries, notebook and pen for notes, any personal medications, light walking shoes, and layers for cool mornings.
What is Sattvic food? Will I like it?
Sattvic food is pure, fresh, and vegetarian - designed to support your yoga practice. It's delicious, nutritious, and includes a variety of Indian and international dishes with fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy. Most students love the food! We can accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice.
Will I get personal attention from teachers?
Yes! We keep class sizes small to ensure everyone receives individual attention. Teachers provide hands-on adjustments (with permission), personalized modifications, and are available for one-on-one consultations. You're never just a number in a large group.
Is there free time to explore Rishikesh?
Yes! You have free time from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM daily, plus evenings after 8:30 PM. This gives you time to rest, explore local markets and temples, visit the Ganges, or simply relax. Sunday afternoons are also typically free for excursions.
Can I use this retreat as preparation for teacher training?
Absolutely! This retreat is excellent preparation for yoga teacher training. You'll build foundational knowledge in asana, pranayama, philosophy, and anatomy - all essential for TTC. Many students complete this retreat before enrolling in our 200-hour teacher training program.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
Cancellations 45+ days before the retreat receive a full refund minus processing fees. Cancellations 30-44 days prior receive 50% refund. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable, but you can transfer to a future date (subject to availability). Contact us for special circumstances.
