You should have at least 6 months of regular yoga practice, be comfortable with intermediate asanas, have basic pranayama experience, and be mentally prepared for 9 hours of daily intensive practice. How physically demanding is this program?
Very demanding. This is an intensive program with 9 hours of daily practice including advanced asanas, long meditation sits, and challenging pranayama. You need good physical fitness, stamina, and mental resilience. However, teachers provide modifications and you can adjust intensity within safe limits. Rest time is built into the schedule.
Will I learn advanced poses like handstands and scorpion?
Yes, the program includes progression toward advanced arm balances, inversions, and peak poses. However, we emphasize safe, intelligent progression based on individual readiness. You'll receive personalized guidance and modifications to work toward challenging asanas at your appropriate level.
Can I use this retreat as preparation for yoga teacher training?
Absolutely! This intensive is excellent preparation for 200-hour or 300-hour yoga teacher training. You'll gain advanced technical skills, deep philosophical understanding, personal practice development, and teaching insights. Many students complete this before enrolling in our teacher training programs.
What's different from the beginners retreat?
The intensive retreat has 9 hours vs 7 hours daily, focuses on advanced techniques, expects prior experience, includes complex asanas and pranayama, deeper philosophical study, individualized practice development, and smaller class sizes. It's significantly more challenging and assumes you already have a solid foundation.
Is there time for personal practice and rest?
Yes. Despite the intensive schedule, rest and recovery are prioritized. You have 2-4 PM free for rest or self-study, 8:30-10 PM for personal practice/journaling, and 10 PM to 5:30 AM for sleep. One afternoon per week is typically free. Proper rest is essential for progress in intensive practice.
What makes the instruction "advanced"?
Advanced instruction includes subtle alignment refinements, energetic principles, advanced sequencing theory, complex pranayama with bandhas, deep meditation techniques, philosophical depth beyond basics, individualized teaching based on your needs, and instruction on how to develop your own advanced practice.
Will I receive ongoing support after the retreat?
Yes! The intensive includes post-retreat follow-up sessions, access to our alumni community, ongoing email support from teachers, and a personalized practice plan to continue your development. We're committed to supporting your long-term growth beyond the 14 days.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations 60+ days before: full refund minus processing fee. 45-59 days: 60% refund. 30-44 days: 40% refund. Less than 30 days: no refund, but you can transfer to another date within 1 year (subject to availability). We recommend travel insurance for unforeseen circumstances.
